Home Invasion Thriller ‘See For Me’ Has a Trailer

Sophie, a young blind woman, house-sitting at a secluded mansion, finds herself under invasion by thieves seeking a hidden safe. Her only means of defense: a new app called “See For Me”. It connects her to a volunteer across the country who helps her survive by seeing on her behalf. Sophie is connected to Kelly, an army veteran who spends her days playing first-person shooter games. Sophie is forced to learn that if she’s going to survive the night, she’ll need all the help she can get. A blind teenage girl who ends up being not so powerless after all.

Horror so often leverages what you can’t see. Usually it’s a monster in the dark, or a murderer out of focus and over the shoulder. See For Me promises to take that same premise in a very different direction, inviting audiences to watch tensely as a blind woman faces home invasion. It’s a quick cut trailer full of clean cinematography and artful lighting, and it manages to entice without giving the entire plot.

Most excitingly though, is the star of the film, Sklyer Davenport. Skyler is a visually impaired, nonbinary actor on the spectrum, who hopes to empower others and change outdated narratives with their projects. See For Me seems like an excellent step toward those goals, and audiences will be able to see it very soon.

See For Me is in theaters, streaming, and VOD January 7th, 2022.
