Ash and his girlfriend Linda go to an abandoned cabin in the woods for a romantic getaway only to be subject to the worst horrors that change their lives forever. Evil Dead II is half remake of the original film and half sequel that (in my opinion) is superior to the original. It takes the best parts of the original, namely the amazing special effects and the basic story, and builds up a new film full of humor, genuine horror, and so much gore. The moments of hilarity don’t downplay at all those serious, chilling moments. For instance, a deadite sings a lullaby and relays actual happy memories to trick its victim. Ash is also a more relatable character than later films and works genuinely to save those in need even if they fight against him. Evil Dead II is ridiculously fun and stands the test of time.
