Although this delightful Halloween special is no longer shown on major networks, the silly tale, which stars Garfield and Odie, holds up well and is something I revisit every year thanks to an old DVD.I remember being scared while watching the show as a kid because A. An animal is in peril (yes, that animal is a cartoon cat, BUT I’M SENSITIVE, OK) and B. The ghosts featured in the show are skeleton pirates; what’s creepier than that when you’re 6 years old? In addition to G-rated thrills, the Garfield special is full of simply amazing original songs. If I’m honest, that’s probably why this special has always appealed to me.
