I can’t say that, as an adult woman, I expected to scream laugh, tear up, and sing along to this animated film for children. But it isn’t, truly, just for kids, is it? Therein lies the magic. As a certified grown up, I found myself utterly charmed and delighted. It managed to capture the spirit of the live action Addams Family iterations, tugging on those nostalgia strings, and keep the family-friendly vibes while mixing in a healthy dose of subtle adult humor. I will never emotionally recover from the scene where Morticia discovers Thing scrolling feet pics online. It also rocks an all-star cast, including Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Nick Kroll, Bette Midler, and so many more. Addams Family will absolutely be making it into my annual spook season rotation. Don’t sleep on this one, folks.
