Kurt has been consistently streaming for years and is itching for his big break. In a unique, new, found footage format, Spreeshows us how desperate Kurt is for fame through the lens of an (instagram-inspired) live-stream.

Spree is definitely a fun ride, but sometimes loses sight of a cohesive story. The style veers towards ‘stream of consciousness’ which fits well with a found-footage film but can leave you with some lulls. The film comes with a takeaway and I definitely see a little of Kurt in all of us. He just wants to be seen. I found both Kurt and Jessie to be endearing in their own ways, but I found the smaller characters to be unnecessarily hamfisted. I think I could appreciate Spree much more if I watched it through a more satirical lens. Still, I couldn’t help but enjoy the cheeky ending.

Spree will be available on DVD & Blu-Ray October 20th, 2020.
