A 666-Character Review of ‘Sator’

Release Date
July 21, 2019
DIRECTOR
Jordan Graham

Adam, isolated at a cabin in the woods of Northern California, spends most of his time hunting, periodically checking images from his grandpa’s deer cam using a beat up laptop. However, from the shrill, chilling sounds of his homemade call…you quickly put together that it’s not traditional game he’s hunting for. Instead, it’s for any sign of the malevolent spirit, “Sator”, who’s presence has been tearing at his family for generations. This is obviously intimate project, that’s rarely comfortable, and leaves you feeling like an uninvited guest during a struggling family’s worst moments. Long takes force feed you anxiety. Breathing is for the most part an autonomic process, but this quiet pressure cooker will have you aware of each one you take. Jordan Graham, you’ve got my attention.

Sator screened as part of the 10th Annual Telluride Horror Show.
