Another month, another installment of Hulu’s Into the Dark anthology series. Last March we got Treehouse, which was fine, but I struggle to remember how it tied into the month of March. This year however, we get an overtly St. Patrick’s Day movie.
Crawlers, as the title suggests, is a creature feature; although not entirely what you’d expect for something set on St. Patrick’s Day. The movie is framed as a re-telling, with a narrator doing a lot of voice-over…which is something I personally do not like. The film itself has the vibe of a CW teen drama, but it works for what it wants to be. You follow a group of girls who are pub crawling across a local college campus, when things turn weird. The movie is quirky, light-hearted, and fun…while sometimes crossing the line into cheesy and embarassing. It’s not a horrible film, but one of the weaker entries in the Into the Dark series. Worth a one-time watch.
