Yellow Veil Pictures Grabs Erotic Thriller Doc ‘We Kill for Love’ Ahead of Overlook Film Festival

The ever impressive Yellow Veil Pictures has announced its acquisition of worldwide rights for the upcoming documentary We Kill for Love, an exploration of the lost world of direct-to-video erotic thrillers. Written, produced, and directed by Anthony Penta, the film offers a fascinating look into a once-popular yet often-maligned and under acknowledged genre of American cinema.

Featuring interviews with filmmakers, film stars, and scholars such as Andrew Stevens, Jim Wynorski, Fred Olen Ray, Monique Parent, Amy Lindsay, Kira Reed Lorsch, Linda Ruth Williams, Abbey Bender, and more folks I admittedly don’t know, We Kill for Love delves into the heart and soul of a forgotten film movement. Balancing film art with scholarship, the documentary serves as more than just a love letter to the genre, but also pushes the conversation forward, shining a spotlight on films that have often been overshadowed by their more glamorous theatrical counterparts.

Joe Yanick, Co-Founder of Yellow Veil Pictures, praised We Kill for Love as “a home run for erotic thriller fans” and “one of the most in-depth looks at genre cinema.” He added, “We are thrilled to represent this film for international sales with a launch at the upcoming Marche Du Film this May.”

Director Anthony Penta shared, “We Kill for Love is part film essay, part documentary, and part casefile. It’s a record of my prolonged investigation into a forgotten but once lucrative film movement, as well as a fantasia on its themes.” He continued, “I’m very happy to be partnering with Yellow Veil Pictures on the release of this film, and I’m sure it will serve as a permanent monument to not only a lost film subgenre, but a bygone era of American cinema.”

We Kill for Love will make its world premiere at the Overlook Film Festival and is set for a domestic release later this year.
