Alter is a found footage film that asks the question “Would you survive in a horror movie?” and makes it clear that the main characters probably won’t as they break every rule laid out. The film feels more raw and realistic than found footage films have become lately. It seems to be leaning into sci-fi horror territory with the mysterious metal object in the woods and its eerie glowing lights. The threat isn’t clear, but I’m intrigued to see how this meta horror will turn out.
