The Deeper You Dig starts off with an interesting premise; an accidental murder, followed by the paranoia of being caught, capped off with a tarot-reading psychic. However, right from the start I was left scratching my head at some of the character’s decision making. There are some solid performances within the movie, and the male lead is oddly charismatic and appealing. Nevertheless, the movie goes to places I personally did not care for, and featured some artistic choices I didn’t really vibe with. Considering the scale of production and limited budget, it’s not a bad film. While it didn’t necessarily work for me, there is plenty there for others to enjoy.
