“How do you talk? Oink, oink, oink?”

Piggy starts off relentlessly. Teenage Sara (played by a wonderful Laura Galán) is subject to non-stop bullying because of her weight. Sara’s mother is extremely overbearing and at times verbally abusive. …Sara witnesses her tormentors being kidnapped by a potential serial killer? Well, this movie is a thing. Having unnecessarily beautiful cinematography, multiple tonal shifts, and a brilliantly nuanced lead performance, Piggy was captivating from its opening, pastel-filled image. I was never entirely sure where this movie was leading me, but the ending was more than rewarding. Who knew a small, Spanish countryside could behold such grotesque horrors?
