1985’s Italian classic Demons, wrote the playbook for combining disturbing practical gore with moments of humor. Lamberto Bava takes directorial credit, but its story was molded from ideas from 5 influential Italian directors, most notably Dario Argento. The plot is simple and honestly, not very important, to drive the story. A ragtag group of theatergoers attends a screening to a new film that quickly transforms into a meta experience of horror to come to life. Demons pushes the boundaries on a truly horrifying what-if scenario while knowing exactly the type of film it wants to be without pulling any punches. It is a clever, fast-paced, gore-filled rollercoaster that will have you yearning for more by its Kawasaki cutting crescendo. This is a must-watch for every horror fan. Get it!
