A 666-Character Review of ‘The Dead Don’t Die’

What a dumb movie, and I say that with the utmost respect.
The Dead Don’t Die is an art house parody/absurdist dry comedy hybrid. A simple movie about a zombie apocalypse taking place in a small town, filled with a cast of characters. This movie doesn’t really have any jokes, yet its comedy is derived entirely from the straight, deadpan delivery of all the dialogue. There are gags that get run into the ground, silly little things that keep being brought up and returned to over and over again. The zombie aspect is fun, but the violence is entirely (shoddy) CGI. I will admit, this movie won’t work for everyone, but it struck my funny bone the entire runtime.
