Rupture is a survival horror/thriller that delivers an innovative twist on an abduction story. Protagonist Renee is taken after her car breaks down to an undisclosed location where she is kept and subjected to her greatest fear. Led by Noomi Rapace, superb acting pushes the script from “unlikely futuristic science experiment” to “terrifying, realistic medical advancement.” The film garnered lower reviews elsewhere on the web, but I am not sure why–the dialogue, suspense, and unsettling tone throughout was top tier indie sci-fi material. Only let down was the lackluster CGI, which could have been omitted entirely. All in all, it’s a fun and worthwhile watch.
