A 666-Character Review Of ‘Outcast: The Road Before Us’

Kyle suspects that if Mildred is still possessed by a demon after Reverend Anderson’s exorcism, his wife Allison might still be too. The Reverend seems to be trying to prove to Kyle and himself of his past success and that good triumphs over evil. Both victims are still possessed. Allison’s life is shown as she struggles to raise her defiant daughter alone. She can’t make sense of Kyle’s violent actions and struggles to come to terms with how such a short event has changed her whole life. Because we hadn’t seen much of her, I wasn’t expecting her to be portrayed so sympathetically. Kyle sabotages himself by hounding her and keeping secrets despite his good intentions. Sydney and Mildred have a cryptic conversation that raises more questions about Kyle’s powers and demon life in a human body.
