A 666-Character Review Of ‘Outcast: From the Shadows It Watches’

Reverend Anderson watches his past exorcism footage to torture himself rather than trying to find out what went wrong. He sees his failure and Kyle’s success as a personal insult as opposed to the town wide crisis it is. Kyle gets a new job repairing roads in a short stint of normalcy. He sees a premonition and then is attacked by surprisingly strong Mildred who would have killed him if not for Sydney. Anderson confides in his girlfriend Patricia after she gives him an ultimatum, counter to how Kyle treated Allison in the last episode. I’m frustrated with Anderson and Kyle’s on again, off again friendship and exorcism team. It’s repetitious and it distracts from other more interesting story lines. The episode ends with Sydney’s surprisingly direct and violent threat to Reverend Anderson.
