A 666-Character Review of ‘He Never Died’

Jack likes his simple life, but the arrival of his 19 year-old daughter promises to get in the way. Well, that, his cannibalistic bloodlust, and inability to die. He Never Died is a humorously twisted revenge flick with a supernatural bent. In an unusual approach, Jack (played by Henry Rollins) is the straight man in an absurd situation despite being the only one who actually knows what’s going on. This sets the movie up for a candid and peculiar tone that blends well with Rollins’ deadpan deliveries, bewildered reactions, and gruff tone. Add in a fun and evenly paced plot, good cast, and solid blood/gore effects and you’ve got horror-comedy in top form. Everything about He Never Died feels consistent, decisive, and heartfelt. As dark as it is funny, this film is a must watch for 2015 horror.
