A 666-Character Review of ‘Life After Beth’

One of the most enjoyable horror comedies to date.  Very solid writing, an amazing cast, and a very funny story line.  The plot follows a young man whose girlfriend has just died of a snake bite. When she re-appears, mostly intact but definitely a bit different, hijinks ensue.  Director and Writer Jeff Baena also wrote I Heart Huckabees, which explains the dry, witty comedic style of Beth.  For anyone who has been, has known, or has raised a teenage girl, there is one scene in particular that hits hilariously close to home.  Because the plot is not entirely unique, I can’t bring myself to give the film five stars, but it is one of my favorites and a must-see.
