Kill or be killed is the golden rule of the Game of Death. Sucks for seven millennials who ignored that rule. Now each one’s head will explode unless they kill someone. Will they turn on each other to survive, or will this sunny day be the last for the innocent people of their middle-of-nowhere town?
This looks like an over the top splatter fest and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to see it. It’s feels like a fun modernization of the camp that so defined the 80s, reminiscent of 2015’s The Final Girls. It’s hard to know just what we’ll be getting with this movie, as the actors, directors, and writers are all relative newcomers, but it looks like an entertaining bit of kitschy horror to watch with friends.
Game of Death premiered at SXSW 2017, and is slated as “coming soon” by its distributor, Blackpills.
