A 666-Character Review Of ‘Preacher: Monster Swamp’

Jesse continues to think of different ways to get people into the church. He goes with bringing in Odin Quincannon and doing a raffle for a large flat screen TV. The town kind of collectively shrugs and laughs about a prostitute who falls into a sinkhole, much to Tulip’s chagrin. This leads to Cassidy and Tulip meeting in a hilarious way. The dark humor is on point and is now shown to be a staple of the show. We see some flashbacks with Odin and shows his history with Jesse and the town. Unfortunately, I though the development was too abrupt for what happened to his character. There are so many crazy, exciting story lines in the comic that it’s frustrating that the show is stagnating with following nonessential plot lines like the dead prostitute and Emily. At this point, it’s a wasted opportunity.
