A 666-Character Review of ‘Beneath’

Beneath must be the hundredth found footage film I’ve seen in the last twelve months. The idea is scary – kind of similar to Descent, but with the twist of a coal mine & miners. Aside from the absurd premise of a city lawyer gal/daughter of one of the miners following her dad to work on his last day, the movie wasn’t bad – not great, but not bad. Predictably, the group of miners becomes trapped underground, a story scary enough by itself – but, because this is a horror film, things get even worse. Not much I can say without spoiling, other than perhaps that the monsters are tough to recognize. Probably worth a watch, but don’t have high hopes for the ending.
