In certain theaters across the country, moviegoers were treated to a movie trailer for a relatively unheard of new film in front of Halloween. The Prodigy’s first trailer is simple and minimal, while providing a great sense of the film’s tense atmosphere. It tells us all we need to know, a young boy named Miles might be possessed by an unknown demonic entity, and his mother (played by Taylor Schilling of Orange is the New Black) is seeking help from the Church to help him. Doesn’t give away too much, but just enough to get our interest. Top it off with a pretty cool scare at the end, and the audience knows what Mile’s mother is up against.
The Prodigy will be released by Orion Pictures (The Belko Experiment, Wish Upon, Anna and the Apocalypse) on February 8th, 2019.
