Weekly Watch: ‘The Blob (1958)’

Weekly Watch is a special series for the month of October. Each Friday we’re recommending a movie, and will follow it with a discussion led by a Frightday staffer on our facebook group in the days to follow.

This week has been all about famous faces of fear for Frightday, and our weekly watch is no different. Well, it’s a little different. It doesn’t have a face. 1958’s The Blob is a great entry in the annals of sci-fi horror history. Originally a B-movie (as in the second part of a double-feature), it proved popular with audiences and became a main attraction. Critics largely disagreed on this, but that didn’t stop the movie from becoming iconic. Check it out this weekend and let us know what you think over on the facebook group.

The Blob is available on HuluAmazon, and iTunes.
