A young brother and sister, roaming an apocalyptic city, take refuge in the dilapidated lair of a strange hermit. He puts them to work building a bizarre cavernous structure, where he acts out his insane and depraved fantasies. Trapped in this maddening womb-like world under his malign influence, they find themselves sinking into the realms of dark and forbidden behaviour.
This is a neatly constructed trailer that draws you in before you can realize it’s drawing you down too. It opens with an innocently unstable man and spirals wildly from there—it’s like a scaled down version of the film, and fantastically so. There’s some great cinematography on display here, and a small handful of performances that don’t seem like they cold disappoint. All in all, it got my attention, and feels like one you’ll want to see too.
We Are the Flesh is in theaters January 20th, 2017.
