Martin Freeman Races Against Infection in ‘Cargo’

Stranded in rural Australia in the aftermath of a violent pandemic, an infected father desperately searches for a new home for his infant child and a means to protect her from his own changing nature.

Martin Freeman continues his exploration of genre films with Cargo, a heartwarming zombie tale. In an effort to survive the undead apocalypse, a family is torn apart by infection with the only possibility of survival within an infant. Sure to bring a range of emotion in an emotionally-complex story, Freeman will breathe life into a script that originated as a short, from directors Yolanda Ramke (also the writer) and Ben Howling. For fans of the Babadook: there are plenty of overlaps with the production crews for the two movies.

Cargo will be released in theaters in Australia on May 17, with an international Netflix release the following day.
