Jonas Åkerlund’s ‘Lords of Chaos’ Teaser Warns This is Gonna End Bad…

A teenager’s quest to launch Norwegian Black Metal in Oslo in the early 1990s results in a very violent outcome.

Based on this little peek into the highly-regarding fictionalized look into the history of black metal legends Mayhem, one might think Lords of Chaos would be a comedy. We have a bunch of young men looking like caricatures of metalheads, centered around an unknown event that causes one of them to un-athletically leave on bike. Those familiar with the band’s lore, however, know the violence and havoc that will ensue. Those unfamiliar should buckle up for what is sure to be a wild ride.

The cast includes Jack Kilmer as Death, Rory Culkin as Euronymous, Anthony De La Torre as Hellhammer, and of course, Emory Cohen as Varg Vikernes. It is directed by Jonas Åkerlund, former drummer of Bathory.

Lords of Chaos will be released by Gunpowder & Sky in the US on February 8.
