IFC Midnight Teases ‘Ghost Stories’ Anthology with 3 New Trailers

Ghost Stories stars Andy Nyman as Professor Goodman, a psychologist and skeptic, who has his rationality tested when he stumbles across a long-lost file containing details of three terrifying haunts. He then embarks on a mission to find rational explanations for the ghostly happenings.

These teasers really earn that title. The basic premise is pitched and so there’s a little sense to things, but a lot of this feels esoteric. The shots are the kind that you know will make sense in context, but here they only serve to create a confused sense of dread. As far as I’m concerned, it works. There’s a definite creepiness to it all and I am certainly intrigued by this film.

It’s an adaptation of a play written by the star, Nyman, and the director (Jeremy Dyson). How it transfers from stage to film remains to be seen, but given the cast and the individuals behind the film, it seems likely that we have a fun pseudo-anthology film coming our way from IFC Midnight.

Ghost Stories will be in theaters in 2018.

The other two trailers can be found here and here.
