‘#Horror’ Stylishly Tackles Cyberbullying

Inspired by actual events, a group of 12 year old girls face a night of horror when the compulsive addiction of an online social media game turns a moment of cyber bullying into a night of insanity.

Although this does peak my home-invasion interest, I’m ninety percent sure we’ve got something a little weirder on our hands. And while this appears to be right up my alley, I do have a little bit of a bone to pick. #Horror, why do you have to “inspired by actual events” me? I feel like my Forth Kind scars are finally healing. It gets even more interesting when you find out that the inspired event is the 2014 Slender Man Stabbing. Are we simply breaking down the social media dependency epidemic? The power of digital anonymity? Is something darker in the distance? Or is this just dumb fun? Regardless, my guess is this won’t be the last film concerning the notification generation…& it’s about time.

The directorial debut of “it girl” Tara Subkoff was picked up my IFC Midnight last August, & is scheduled for a November 20th VOD/limited theatrical release.
