A woman begins to fall in love, only to discover that she has fantastic powers.

Accepting sexuality is a monumental part of a person’s life, but it usually doesn’t involve the supernatural. For university student Thelma, a blossoming relationship with fellow classmate Anja challenges her parents’ conservative views and defies physics when her feelings are translated into shocking powers. Beautifully shot with a muted color palate, this film was selected as Norway’s entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Reminiscent of Carrie with a more progressive upgrade, Thelma will be in limited theaters in America beginning November 10th, 2017.
