Don’t Listen to Byron’s 666-Character Review of ‘The Gallows’

Let me begin by saying that no one should go into The Gallows expecting a highly intellectual cinematic experience. However, with the proper expectation of a fun, teen-angsty horror movie in the tradition of The Faculty and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the movie is a fun ride. Are there 25-year-olds playing high school students? Are there predictable jump scares? Is the acting a bit melodramatic and the dialog cliche? Yes on all counts, but that is precisely what this kind of movie is SUPPOSED to be! Just put yourself in the mindset your fifteen-year-old self, when those first tastes of freedom included a scary movie at the theater, and it was so much fun.
