A 666-Character Review of ‘Wrecker’

If spending your Saturday watching a tow-truck chasing a Mustang sounds appealing, then you’re going to love Wrecker. Buckle up for writer/director Michael Bafaro’s 83-minute-long car commercial with occasional plot. Apparently, a re-make of Steven Spielberg’s “Duel” (1971), this movie centers on best friends Emily and Leslie who take a wrong turn while road-tripping and find themselves in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a psychotic trucker. This film features plenty of awkwardly long driving sequences, lackluster acting, and unnecessary CG effects. Wrap it all up with almost no explanation or resolution whatsoever, and you’ve got one incredibly boring “horror” film. While the release date is set for November 6th, you may want to skip the midnight premier of this disappointing flick.
