A 666-Character Review of ‘Trick or Treat’ (1986)

If every bullied high schooler were blessed with a demonic record, the world would rock a bit more. In Trick Or Treat, Eddie, a metal loving music fan, gets bullied by blockhead jocks; so he seeks refuge in his records. However, after Eddie starts to mess around with a demo made by a recently departed metal rock god, Sammi Curr, strange stuff starts to happen. For example, Curr is brought back to life in all of his satanic glory thanks to some wicked recorded riffs that are played over a high school gym’s sound system at the Halloween dance… You know—normal 80s stuff. Thankfully, this film holds up—it’s fun and full of killer (literal) electric guitar solos.
