A 666-Character Review of ‘Timecrimes’

Remember the only segment in VHS Viral that didn’t make you want to turn it off? The interesting short about time/dimensional travel? Well, it turns out that Parallel Monsters isn’t the only time director Nacho Vigalondo has explored this heady, fascinating topic. Following the story of a simple couple who lives in the woods, the Spanish sci-fi/horror Timecrimes takes the complex and often-butchered concept of time travel and presents it in a wholly-original fashion. Though you might be able to guess a few of the directions the movie will take, there are also some wonderfully unexpected turns – and that’s all I’m going to say. Be sure to watch Timecrimes carefully – it’s worthy of a careful eye. Can’t wait to see Vigalondo’s next projects: a feature film starring Anne Hathaway-Colossal.
