A 666-Character Review Of ‘Scream: Village of the Damned’

When the town of Lakewood decides the annual carnival and pageant are traditions they can’t let die, the stage is set for a funhouse themed horror show. Sadly, the full potential of the setting is never realized, as the carnival creates a touch of atmosphere, but never really plays into the horror as well as it could. The scale is tipped towards the MTV drama side of things with Brooke and Zoe in the pageant, and the remaining the Lakewood Sixers and friends in attendanceBrooke gives a drunk and unexpected speech, Kieran starts a fight, and Noah puts in work to impress Zoe. By the time the horror picks up the episode is nearly over, and viewers only get a short scene. In carnival terms, this episode was like being on the teacups with a queasy kid. You want to do more, but it’s just not going to happen.
