Rust Creek is a fresh take on the survival thriller. The feature film, which was recently picked up by IFC Midnight, is directed by Jen McGowan, written by Julie Lipson and stars Hermione Corfield. The film follows Sawyer (Corfield) as she embarks on an impromptu pre-Thanksgiving trip to Washington D.C. for a job interview. Sawyer soon finds herself lost in the woods in Kentucky, and on the run from dangerous drug runners. The majority of the film’s drama comes from the actors’ performances and the script’s twists. Although I wouldn’t say that Rust Creek is a horror film, the tension-filled movie is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys fantastic storytelling.
