A 666-Character Review of ‘Midnighters’

Midnighters starts off in one of the best ways possible; it asks a question. Not only a question for the characters, but to the viewers as well. Lots of events unfold early in the story, but unfortunately, this movie tends to go slightly downhill from there. While remaining engaging, suspenseful, and tense for the first half, things quickly become convoluted, with characters’ deceit and lies ending up in a tangled web of conflicting intentions. There are a few “twists” along the way, that ultimately add nothing of value. Above average performances, and a simple one-location setting, Midnighters has a wonderful concept, but sadly stumbles to the finish line.
