A 666-Character Review of ‘Martyrs (2016)’

Kevin and Michael Goetz, in association with Blumhouse Productions will soon be releasing their remake of Pascal Laugier’s 2008 horror drama Martyrs. In this film, childhood friends Lucie and Anna seek revenge on those who kidnapped and tortured Lucie as a child, but what they find turns out to be far worse then they could have imagined. You’ll be squirming in your seat and watching the incredibly uncomfortable scenes of grotesque torture through the spaces between your fingers until the film reaches its far-from-fairytale conclusion. This reviewer recommends you do an image search of something adorable prior to your viewing experience and leave it up in another tab, because you’re going to need some serious eye-bleach after some particularly gruesome scenes. Catch Martyrs this Friday, January 22nd.
