The latest from Lucky McKee (The Woman), Kindred Spirits is a 90s-thriller-influenced, tension-fueled nightmare. Admittedly inspired by Single White Female, this film shows that even family is not to be trusted. Matriarch Chloe and her daughter Nicole have their lives disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Chloe’s sister Sadie. What begins as endearing yet strange interactions between Nicole & Sadie devolves into moments that entice viewers to yell at the screen in disgust and anger. Exemplary performances from Caitlin Stasey, Sasha Frolova, and Thora Birch paired with a refreshing orchestral score elevate this well-scripted fun flick into must-see material.

Kindred Spirits premiered at Cinepocalypse 2019.
