A 666-Character Review of ‘Exists’

Since we already kind of reviewed this on the Frightday Podcast, I’ll summarize the only opinion that held any validity: mine. Yes, this is ANOTHER found footage film, and yes, it embraces some of the cliches that go with the territory (“Put that camera down!”), but it is otherwise well done. Director Eduardo Sanchez (father of the modern found footage film, director of The Blair Witch Project) uses GoPro cameras and some exploring outdoor-type twenty-somethings as excellent vehicles for the story. The “monsters” are well done, and only shown a tiny bit too much. I can see why this won the audience award for the “midnighters” at SXSW. Great concept. Fun film.
