A 666-Character Review of ‘Body’

Nothing ruins a good time like a body at the bottom of the stairs. When girls’ night out is derailed for Holly, Cali, and Mel by an unexpected visitor and an even less expected accident some hard decisions must be made. More of a psychological-thriller than horror, Body is disturbing, contemplative, and shocking as the girls struggle individually and collectively with the situation at hand. The plot is slow to start but escalates quickly, and characters are solidly fleshed out across the board. Larry Fessenden in particular sells the story. Every scene with Fessenden’s Arthur is unsettling, creating a distinct and immersive unease for the viewers to experience along with the characters. A tad on the short side (75 minutes) Body is a slow burn with a big finish, making every minute count.

Body is available today on VOD & digital platforms.
