A 666-Character Review Of ‘Angels and Outlaws’

Less is more. In the case of this western yarn of revenge, money, and guns that’s as true as ever. While the general framework of on-the-run bandits capturing a frontier family and their daughter’s slow transformation into a criminal herself is interesting, the pacing is so bad that it becomes a chore to watch. The majority of the run time is spent on scenes of characters talking to each other or wandering through the desert contributing little to the plot. It’s not a bad movie, not at all, but the two hour run time leaves it with too much space to fill. When it’s going the movie’s fun and brutal, the problem is sorting through the boring to find the badass.
