1BR is a movie that mirrored my own life experience: moving to LA without a clear plan in mind, struggle finding a place to live, bringing a cat into a no-pet complex, strange noises in the night, and neighbors that violently assimilate you into their community.
Okay…so that last part didn’t happen to me…however Sara in this film, might not be as lucky. What starts off as a nice apartment, filled with a close-knit group of friendly neighbors, shifts into a living nightmare. We’re lead down the path of supernatural, before settling into the true horror of humanity. 1BR is tad slow, and had a promising premise, but doesn’t quite hit as hard as it should.

POS
Violence/gore looked good
Fairly mean movie (which I like)
Simple plot, single location
NEG
Stretched out and overlong
Performances are a bit amateurish
3.5
